    Winter 2008:  Mayor Fenty expresses support for the park at a Blagden Alley/Naylor Court Association  meeting

    Summer 2008:  Councilman Jack Evans pledges support for the park project

    Fall 2008:  Friends of the Tenth Street Park non-profit group formed (a special thanks to the pro bono work from the Sutherland law firm in DC)

    November 2008:  Friends group receives concept designs for park from Department of Parks and Recreation (with a special thanks to designer Sherry Frear)

    December 2008:  Friends group begins fundraising for park and provides a sneak peak of design concepts to attendees at the Blagden Alley/Naylor Court Association holiday party

    Winter 2009:  Friends group begins financing and design discussions with the District

    February 2009:  Friends group testifies before the City Council to request funding for the park

    March 2009:  The District (a great big thanks to Mayor Fenty and Councilman Jack Evan) fully funds the park for development and construction

    April 2009:  Sherry Frear at DPR works diligently with Friends group to finalize concept designs for the park

    May 2009:  Sherry Frear at DPR holds two public meetings to present the park to the community and obtain feedback

    May 2009:  The District puts up new, temporary fences around the park area

    June 2009:  Mayor Fenty’s office sets groundbreaking ceremony for the week of June 15.
